Foundations of Racial Equity Courses
Course on Tackling Systemic Racism:
Tackling racism requires sustained, systemic actions to create meaningful change and to foster an equitable society where all people have equal opportunities and are treated with respect.

-
In session two, we begin with a video on Courageous Conversations about Race, which introduces four key strategies for staying engaged in discussions about race and other challenging topics.

-
Next, we highlight significant events, influential figures, and American policies that have shaped national perspectives and practices around race.

-
We then present a powerful and emotional video on the History of Oppression, examining the experiences of various disenfranchised communities.

-
Finally, we review the Lens of Oppression, focusing on individual, institutional, and systemic racism. This leads to a discussion on how Jim Crow laws, the Civil Rights Movement, Brown v. Board of Education, and housing discrimination fit into the framework of oppression.
